5 STEP GUIDE
1. INITIAL MEETING
We have a strong commitment to ensuring that any player considering a career in the gas industry is making an informed decision. As such, we have a rigorous process in place where we meet with all potential candidates prior to committing to anything either in person, video calls or just over the phone. During these meetings, we discuss the candidates’ goals, experience, and career aspirations. We also provide information about the gas industry, including the opportunities available, the required training / certifications and the potential career pathways. By taking the time to meet with each candidate, we can ensure that the candidate is a good fit for the industry and can help create the correct pathway for them to succeed. This approach also benefits the business as we can ensure that we are investing time into candidates who are committed to the industry and have the potential to create a successful new career for themselves.
2. SOURCING FUNDING
We are committed to supporting our clients in their career transition. We actively source external funding to help towards the training costs to become a Gas Safe engineer. We understand that transitioning to a new career can be costly, and that financial barriers can sometimes prevent people from pursuing their goals. By sourcing external funding, we can help to lower these barriers and ensure that our clients have access to the resources they need to succeed. We work closely with the PFA to identify suitable funding opportunities for each client, helping them secure the support they may need. This approach demonstrates our commitment to supporting each client and helping them achieve their career goals. Please note, the funding provides you with financial support towards with the cost of the package. In most cases there is a shortfall and clients will have to part fund some of the package.
3. TRAINING
We recognise the importance of providing high-quality training to candidates who are looking to transition into a new career in the gas industry. To ensure that each candidate receives expert training in their chosen pathway, we source external gas training centres that are local to each client. By doing so, candidates can receive training from experienced professionals who have a deep understanding of the industry and its various aspects. This approach ensures that candidates aren’t having to travel too far for training, whilst still receiving expert training that is relevant to their specific goals within the industry. We are committed to supporting the career aspirations of each client and recognise that providing access to top-quality training is a key part of this effort.
4. PORTFOLIO BUILDING
We also recognise the importance of gaining practical experience in the gas industry. Part of the course involves building a portfolio and gaining valuable experience out on the job. Some of the work will be complete out in the field with Rosker and for the remaining parts, we help each individual source gas engineers and companies who can act as mentors. Our approach involves working with each candidate to find companies that are local to them, ideally through their own contacts e.g. family, friends and contacts built through football. This allows them to gain hands on experience in a real-world setting, whilst also receiving guidance and support from experienced professionals. By working closely with these mentors, our trainee gas engineers are able to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed within the industry. Our commitment to finding practical and relevant training is a key part of our mission at Rosker and we take pride in helping our trainees become competent gas engineers.
5. FINDING EMPLOYMENT
On successful completion of the course, we are committed to helping our clients find full-time employment within the gas industry. While there may be opportunities within Rosker, the ultimate responsibility lies with the candidate to make good impressions and create opportunities throughout their time on the course, we can use our extensive network within the industry to help open doors. Additionally, we provide support and guidance for clients who wish to set up their own gas engineering business, including advice on legal requirements, marketing, and customer service. Our ultimate goal is to take someone from football and transition them into a successful and sustainable career.
